Intro: In 2003 we deliver a number of telemedicine solutions for Great Ormand Street Hospital these included MDT rooms, cardiology theatre, conference room and lecture theatre.

Challenge: Due to a hospital building works the cardiology consultants’ offices were temporary relocated at the other end of the building from the cardiology theatre. In emergency or just in cases of needing support or a 2nd opinion the consultants were too far away to get to the procedure room in a timely fashion. As these offices were only intended as temporary accommodation space was very limited.

The Solution: We installed a high-resolution rack mount monitor with a very low profile together with an X-Y control panel connected to the cardiology theatre to allow the consultant immediate access to camera views from theatre and automatically opened up two comms. and notification in theatre identifying the consultant.

In order to accommodate these items and not intrude into the limited space we needed a 10U shallow wall mounted rack when our search failed to find one shallow enough, we designed our own.

On this project we also used our own custom designed and manufactured modular connection boxes and wall mounts for Sony VC cameras.
