Intro: We were invited by the interactive exhibition design team of the ‘Street’ area within the Think Tank science museum in Birmingham to provide the interactive control element for five of the exhibits.
Challenge: With tight budgets but exacting requirements we needed an imaginative approach; normal audio visual control systems would have been suitable if cost and space had not been a constraint. Industrial automation provided a solution to size but not the budget.
The Solution: We used a combination of mini PLC controllers, off the shelf electronics and custom made electronics
